Payment

Distribution salary is based on product payment. Each area’s payment is dependable on that area’s household count and the amount of products in delivery.

There might be delivery dates from four to nine per month, depending on the area and month. Regular salary for a distribution worker is 30-300€ per month. If you deliver more or larger areas, you have a chance to earn more.

Also, the earnings level for light entrepreneurs is slightly higher. In distribution work, you have excellent opportunities to control the workload according to your preferences.

Many of our distributors cover multiple areas and earn over €300 per month, but typically only after they have first learned the basics by distributing in a smaller area. Distributing over wide areas usually requires the use of your own car, which isn’t possible for everyone. Therefore, the payment examples on this page are based on work that is also possible for those distributors who are just starting out and learning the job.

Calculated hourly wage

The salary for distribution work is based on a piece rate rather than an hourly wage. Each individual item’s distribution and sorting are compensated with a fixed piece rate, determined based on the average time required for the task. According to the collective agreement, the piece rate should result in an average calculated hourly wage of at least €8,12 over a certain period of time.

Distribution work is carried out independently without employer supervision within one’s own distribution area, and there is no time tracking for sorting or distribution. Therefore, salary is not based on the number of hours worked. Piece rate allows the work to be performed very freely, at one’s own pace within a generous time window. An efficient and experienced distributor often earns more per hour in practice, as they can complete their work at a faster pace than average.

Collective agreement

Collective agreement concerning the industry is the Collective labor agreement between Medialiitto (Finnmedia) and Teollisuusliitto (Industrial Union) concerning the delivery of unaddressed direct mail. Suorajakelua koskeva työehtosopimus.
